Many of us have been taught a version of Christianity that we simply can no longer accept; a version that makes the end goal "getting into heaven," and therefore makes the main purpose of being a Christian about "being in," which sets our religion over and against that of others as "the one true way," "the only truth"--those who are not like us are thus a problem to overcome (by converting them to our way).

This sermon series seeks to deconstruct these popular and simplistic notions of Christianity--to challenge the notion that this is the foundation of Christian faith--while also seeking to reconstruct a more expansive, generous, and just Christianity. We do this not merely for the sake of the words or religion themselves, but because, seen in a new light, the concepts at the heart of our faith truly do offer us a profound vision for our lives and our world; a powerful invitation to a journey of transformation; a pathway of healing justice and restoring love--just not the one most of us have been taught!
